I hit send and hide the games I’ve retrieved behind my back before heading into the living room. “What do you have in mind?” Eric asks with a wicked gleam in his eyes as he puts his phone down, giving me his full attention and wagging his eyebrows. I roll my eyes at the innuendo he’s surely implying before revealing the games behind my back, Monopoly and Uno.

“Oh, it’s war you’re declaring then? Game on! What does the victor get I wonder?” Elias lifts a brow and I shrug my shoulder in response, a blush no doubt creeping up on my cheeks. I place Monopoly down on the floor and the Uno deck on the coffee table before taking a mouthful of my beer.

“How about we make it interesting?” Eric grins, capturing all of our attention. “The person who wins is safe, second place has to take a mouthful of their beer, third place has to drink half of theirs and last place has to skull the entire bottle.”

“You’re on.” I sign before keeling down and extracting the card from the box. We play four rounds of Uno, of which I won one, came third twice, and lost once before we continue into a game of monology that lasts the next couple of hours. I quickly learn that Ethan is a cautious player, Elias’ play is one of strategy and Eric just ploughs through buying anything and everything he lands on. Unsurprisingly, Ethan was the one who absolutely smashed our arses. Eric going bankrupt long before everyone else before he teamed up with me, but still, we were defeated.

Now we’re sitting around, munching on a packet of chips, the sun having long since set. We’re all a little tipsy and amped up from the competitive nature of both our games, but I can successfully say no wars were waged and we had a blast, none of us quite ready to begin winding down yet.

I watch as Eric squirms where he sits, shifting around before he slams his bottle down onto the table and runs out of the room. A few moments later, his heavy stream can be heard from where we sit followed by an ‘ahh’. We all burst out laughing as the realisation that Elias just broke the seal settles over us. Hopefully, for his sake he isn’t up every 5 minutes from now returning to the bathroom.

When he goes to sit back down, he knocks an empty bottle of beer over with his hand and it spins around and around before stopping in front of me. Eric whoops and wedges himself between me and the table, I tilt my head up to look at him and he smiles down at me mischievously. My cheeks heat as I realise our current position lines me up perfectly with his tenting board shorts.

Eric kneels down, straddling me before gripping both my cheeks and claiming my lips in a passionate kiss. I moan as his tongue enters my mouth and his hands travel down my body.
